New Assistant Dean & Associate Director joins the A3C!
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Shannon Deloso as the new Assistant Dean and Associate Director at the Asian American Activities Center!
Shannon Deloso (she/they) is an educator and student affairs professional, born and raised in Sacramento with ancestral roots in Bohol and Bicol, Philippines. A first-generation college graduate and proud product of Ethnic Studies, Shannon is deeply grounded in community organizing and committed to bridging critical praxis and collective care in education. She brings over a decade of expertise in culturally affirming curriculum design, leadership development, student support, and community engagement. Shannon has taught middle and high school across California, created accessible ethnic studies curriculum for programs and school districts, and mentored emerging student and professional leaders.
Most recently, Shannon served as the Student Success Coordinator for Asian American & Pacific Islander (AA&PI) Student Services at San Francisco State University, where she anchored retention initiatives and led culturally responsive programming for first-generation, transfer, and historically underserved students, with a focus on Southeast Asian and Pacific Islander populations. Outside of work, Shannon champions healing and growth through an arts-based, self-help practice she co-founded, which focuses on curating resources and experiences that inspire self-love, promote wellness, and foster collective healing for individuals and communities.
Shannon holds a B.A. in Asian American Studies with minors in Education and Race & Resistance Studies from San Francisco State University, and an M.Ed. and Social Studies teaching credential from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is also a published author in Fight the Tower: Asian American Women Scholars’ Resistance and Renewal in the Academy.
In her new role as Assistant Dean and Associate Director, Shannon is excited to work alongside students, staff, and faculty to co-create and reimagine spaces that center collective care, purpose, and belonging within the Stanford Community.
