Why you joined the A³C: I've always been extremely passionate in Asian American activities and organizations on campus. For example, I was active in Asian & Queer Club for two years, and performed for Stanford Drag Troupe. We did a drag performance on Asian cowboys around my sophomore year. In general, activism and uplifting Asian American voices and diverse perspectives have been so central to my life. Building and supporting this community is so important, and I knew I wanted to be a part of that through artistic support as Publicity and Digital Manager at the A3C.
One thing you love about Stanford: I really love the diversity of food on campus. There's so so so many vegetables at the dining hall, and I feel so grateful to have a colorful plate! I also live in a co-op, so it's like a big family cooking and cleaning for each other. It's so important to maintain these communities that protect, support, and foster essential values that bring harmony and love into the world.
One class/program to participate in before leaving Stanford: DragFest!
Advice to Frosh: I recommend prioritizing sleep and family (in whatever form that looks like for you)! Your homework, academic goals, and work will always be there for you, but the life of your family and friends won't. It's important to set aside a few hours of the day to truly reconnect with everything valuable to you. Call your mom or text your sibling a bit more frequently. Sleep an extra hour to protect your health! Go out with a friend for lunch and try not to think about work all the time.
