Asian American New Student Orientation Committee
"Growing up in the Midwest did not put me in touch with many Asian Americans, and I did not deal very well with my bi-cultural identity. It was not until I joined A³C that I met other Asian Americans who had similar experiences to me."

Welcome Class of 2026!
We hope the summer mailing from the Asian American Activities Center is getting you excited for Stanford! We are looking forward to meeting all of you (and your family, too!) at our various events during New Student Orientation that are designed to introduce you to our community and help you transition into college life. Please come to our NSO events and bring your family and new friends with you.
If you have any questions about the events, please don’t hesitate to contact AANSOC. See you in September!
Who Is AANSOC?
The Asian American New Student Orientation Committee (AANSOC) is a student-run committee supervised through the A³C, in partnership with Undergraduate Academic Advising, New Student Programs. AANSOC works hard to provide an engaging and informational new student introduction to the Asian American and Pacific Islander (API) community at Stanford.
The AANSOC Team is comprised of one Community Coordinator (CC) and Community Orientation Volunteers (COVs) who dedicate their summers preparing to welcome first year students to campus.
Introducing our 2022 Asian American New Student Orientation Committee:

Sandi Khine ‘25 - Community Coordinator (CC)
Sandi (any/all) is a sophomore from Arcadia, California who is interested in East Asian Studies and Science, Technology, and Society. On any day, Sandi can be found chasing after a cat, romanticizing studying at Tresidder, or taking a walk around campus. Ask Sandi about living in Okada House, being in Asian American community at Stanford, and Listen to the Silence, Stanford's annual Asian American issues conference!

Ben Nguyen ’23 - Community Orientation Volunteer (COV)
Hey everyone, my name is Ben Nguyen and I’m a senior studying Economics from Portland, Oregon. I’m a part of Mua Lac Hong (Stanford’s premier Vietnamese dance group), the Stanford Vietnamese Student Association, and the Asian American Students’ Association!
